Effortless and Delicious Pickled Red Onions Recipe
Makes 4 servings
Total time: 40 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 petite red onion, bisected and finely sliced
- 180 ml apple cider vinegar
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon black peppercorns
- ½ teaspoon coriander seeds
Method:
- Steep the sliced onion in a sizable bowl, filled with hot water, and let it sit for 5 minutes to remove the pungent taste.
- In another bowl, whisk together the vinegar, salt, peppercorns, and coriander seeds until the salt is fully dissolved.
- Discard the water from the onion bowl and immerse the onion slices into the vinegar mix. Stir thoroughly, cover, and refrigerate for a minimum of 30 minutes prior to serving.
Storage:
Although these onions can comfortably hibernate in your refrigerator for up to 2 weeks, using them within the first week ensures optimal freshness and flavor.
