2020 has been a roller-coaster of events, causing significant upheaval and disruption, which can adversely impact our psychological health. More than ever, prioritizing mental wellness during these unpredictable times is vital. Here are seven practical tips to help manage your emotions and maintain a healthy state of mind.
1. Foster Balanced Blood Sugar Levels
Maintaining balanced blood sugar levels will do more than just stabilize your mood; it will also enhance your energy. Dietary choices, particularly the consumption of processed and refined foods, can lead to blood sugar spikes, subsequent dips, and mood swings. Consequently, consuming a balanced diet consisting of fruits, vegetables, high-quality proteins and fats, and complex carbohydrates can effectively prevent these inconsistencies, subsequently supporting your mood and energy levels.
