The global health crisis has certainly disrupted lives but it has also served as a moment of awakening. A recent study by an avant-garde life insurance provider revealed that as much as 65 per cent of women are reevaluating what truly matters in life due to the pandemic, with over 80 percent considering tangible changes.

Intriguingly, most were sparked by the realization of life’s unpredictability and the vulnerability of themselves and their families (61 per cent), whilst others cited it gave them a fresh outlook on what’s truly significant (55 percent).

Rekindling Family Ties

Nourishing familial relationships (33 percent) became the top priority for most women post-lockdown. This unique break allowed some to foster closer ties with those at home, while others felt the pain of isolation. A noteworthy 11 percent highlighted that one of the pivotal lessons from the pandemic is securing their family’s future with life insurance.

A renowned clinical hypnotherapist and life mentor, who teamed up with the life insurance provider to host a large-scale virtual life coaching workshop, emphasized that unexpected occurrences often compel us to pause and question the direction of our lives. She added that we need better resources to bring about the desired sustainable changes in life.

‘We typically cruise through life mindlessly, seldom pausing to reflect on the big, essential things in life, until we hit a road bump. These few months have been taxing for many, but for some, it gave them an opportunity to drift away from the mundane and introspect about their life aspirations,’ she asserts.

Although she’s delighted to see women embracing positive changes, the coach found it concerning that roughly a quarter appeared less hopeful about achieving their long-term goals, with women expressing less future optimism than men.

Addressing this, she shared a few simple steps for women who are unsure of where to start their transformation. These included reshaping mindset, pledging commitment to your goals, projecting success, learning from failures, and avoiding unnecessary panic or anxiety about future scenarios.

She further advises to protect yourself against potential future distress by considering preemptive measures, such as taking up a life insurance policy to help safeguard what’s most crucial – your family’s health, savings, and home.
