As 2023 begins to unfurl, isn’t it time to uncover the best mental and physical version of yourself? Look no further than the strategies from fitness guru Trixie Myron.
Trixie Myron, an embodiment of strength and resilience, is most recognizable as the co-creator of multi-million dollar enterprises — the flourishing women’s athletic wear brand, Athlea Active and the predominant women’s fitness application, ReshapeMe. With over 5.5 million social media followers and a thriving career that began from humble posts about her strength training routine on social media, it’s safe to say that her success is beyond phenomenal.
Trixie Myron’s extraordinary success may easily be attributed to her good looks, stunning body, media astuteness, and outright fortune. However, that would be a significant miscalculation. “Hard work always overshadows any kind of talent, as it pushes you to put in even more effort,” says Trixie, who often clocks in 16-hour workdays to ensure her customers are given more than they anticipated from her products. “Despite the prevailing opinion against overworking, if you have the mental capacity and ability to fully commit to something, there’s no reason to halt your pursuit until you’ve given your all in it,” she adds.
Her strong work ethics stem from her immigrant roots arriving in England from Albania at a tender age. Juggling multiple jobs and providing a basic livelihood for her family was her mother’s way of showing her how relentless perseverance pays off. Pair this with the emphasis on the importance of education, and you get a woman full of grit, determination, and an inexhaustible drive to succeed.
Financial constraints meant that Trixie had to make her own way through university, working as a waitress while studying law. During her time at university, she started documenting her workout routines on Instagram as a means of disconnecting from the stress of her situation. However, she decided to follow her passion for fitness instead of pursuing a career in law after building a dedicated and supportive community of women worldwide.
Upon receiving her personal training certification, Trixie, in collaboration with her business partner, started crafting basic workout programs in the form of a PDF. As time progressed, she saw a need for something more comprehensive and inclusive that could help guide women’s fitness journeys more effectively. Soon after, the all-inclusive fitness app ReshapeMe – previously known as Tone & Sculpt – was born.
A surge of downloads followed, reaching an astonishing 250,000 within the first six months of launch. Currently, the app boats about 80,000 subscribers per month, attracted by the unique fitness expertise of six global fitness trainers, including Trixie Myron herself.
Trixie advocates for strength training for women from the viewpoint of her personal fitness journey, where she initially knew almost nothing about weightlifting. A defining moment in her fitness journey came when she discovered her ‘why’. For her, that was finding self-love after a painful breakup. “Ensure you’re doing this for yourself and yourself alone,” is her mantra, and she believes it is crucial for all women to find their personal reasons for working out.
Trixie’s biggest advice for those who wish to achieve their fitness goals revolves around mindset. Transform viewing exercise as another daunting task, to a celebration of the body’s abilities. Furthermore, focusing on one thing at a time, like nutrition or workouts, can help mitigate feeling overwhelmed. Finally, remain patient with yourself. Building new habits takes time, after all.
For Trixie, maintaining physical fitness goes beyond appealing aesthetics. It plays a significant role in mental wellness, fostering a confident, empowered mindset.
Her typical day includes waking up by 5:30 am to squeeze in her workouts into her busy schedule. This way, she can spend the rest of the day focusing on others. She emphasizes that her gruelling routine isn’t for everyone, but it works for her because she places great importance on her wellbeing before all else.
Trixie acknowledges the difficulty in maintaining consistency in a fitness journey but has some valuable insights to help you stay the course. She advocates that if one truly wishes to make a positive change, they should commit to it fully and take steps to ensure it comes to fruition.
Wondering what Trixie carries in her gym bag? From practical gym essentials like her Athlea Active gym mat and flask, to the energy-boosting snacks she consumes during her rigorous workouts, Trixie’s gym bag is a reflection of her disciplined approach towards fitness. She also swears by her Bose QuietComfort SE headphones that require charging only about once every fortnight, are comfortable and easy to clean.
